I have a Radeon 9500 Pro/9700. I'm running into some black flickering boxes appearing when I play Sims 2 (after I've been using the Internet) I usually restart the computer and then they're gone.

Now I notice that video footage from a new Sony HD camcorder appears choppy when played in Windows Media Player and Adobe Photo Elements. It does not appear choppy when it viewed via the camcorder software.

Please advise... thanks, p.

Your video card is fairly high-end and should be more than enough to handle Sims 2 or Photo Elements. When you check for updates, drivers and patches for the video card, make sure you do the same for your monitor. Make sure you have your monitor at the the maximum refresh rate as well. Check if you have enough resources available on your system.

You might be able to adjust things to fix your problem--make sure you have the latest drivers for the vid. card and patches for the game.

You might also need to clean up other things on your machine, in case there is stuff running in the background and taking up resources.
