If by "pic" you mean "icon" and if by "taskbar" you mean the list of items at the bottom right of the screen, then you can right-click any one of them, and see a menu that includes "Properties" and then click on that and then you'll see the short-cut to the program that is run when you click the icon. The properties *may* also include a "description" of the program unless someone blanked it out and a "title" unless someone blanked it out or renamed it...

Check to see if somehow your mouse settings have been changed to open files on single click as opposed to double-click.

If this has happened - every time you double-click on a programme or folder it could open two instances?

I'm not sure but it's worth checking it out.
