Your average armadillo cannot outrun a human. However, they're much more maneuverable and thus tricky to catch in the open.

Do U know why the chicken crossed the road? To show the Armadillo it could be done. Actually they can move pretty fast in the woods if they R scared or the prey of another animal. Their just kike everything else in the south. We talk slower Armadillo's move slow. Hope this helps you.
