This happened to me about four years ago,I started bleeding after stopping the Depo shot (I was trying for another baby)I bled for five months straight without stopping my Iron count was so low the it didn't register,my GYN was in shock.I ended up going to the ER and I had to have an emergency hysterectomy the ER doctor told me if I would have waited another 24 hours I would have died. So get to an emergency room immediately.

I suspect that it may be an adverse reaction to the sudden stoppage of the hormones. I used depo for years without any problem; however when I stopped using it, I went straight to the pill, so I was immediately regulated and have never had a problem.

I hope that your doctor has positive new for you next week. Good luck.

I've never heard of anyone that was on Depo to have that big a problem...I did bleed for a month straight though.....I wish I could help...I hope it's nothing major when you go to the doctor.....Good Luck!!

I find this very surprising because on the depo you dont usually have any bleeding. I was on it for 7 years and had no bleeding at all. Do you have regular smears? At least you are at the docs on Monday hopefully you'll get it sorted out.
