Pencil...I like the way the Number 2B feels on the paper. Sometimes I use a pen, but I don't really like it overall.

I love pencil. It's forgiving. Actually, lately I've been using a mechanical pencil (2B, with a .07 lead), for details. You don't have to sharpen it and can just get to the business of shaping and detailing (this is for small pieces, of course; less than 9x12, and sketchbook work). I fill in the bigger stuff with the regular pencils.

Pencil all the way. It produces hard and soft lines plus so many different values. You can't shade very well with a PEN.

pencil is better option as a person may make mistakes
but
pen can be used if u are sure about each and every point u are drawing

I'm a pencil guy, but I will use a felt tip once in a while. Never a ball point, too scratchy if the ball is broken.
