A specific person or persons can be bound by physical means, but how does one fight a thought such as "Terrorism"? Honest answers, what country or space can we fight to correct the "thought" or terrorism and successfully win?

The answer is that you can't, it's like fighting "hate", "love" or "greed", the concept is intellectually bankrupt.
I do know one way terrorism is created however, it is by subjugating people, who have no political power, to suffering.
So I know for sure that when "terrorists" are targeted, and many times more innocent people are caused to suffer, (the wonderful euphemism "collateral damage"), then you create in them feelings that manifest in sympathy for those who strike back at the assailants, they become "terrorist sympathizers".
The current enthusiasm to make us believe that we (US and UK particularly) are fighting terrorism is obviously baloney, anyone who dares think for themselves can see it.
I don't exactly know what's behind it, but our "leaders" quite simply think we are mostly gullible fools, and will believe such a nonsensical notion.
I'm sorry to say they seem to be correct in most cases, but not in yours apparently. Unless you really were asking who it is best to bomb-I trust it was a rhetorical question, and one well put.

How many terrorists come from countries that are democratic, employed, educated, and have a free press?
There is your answer. Until Afghanistan and Iraq were liberated, every single country in the middle east was a tyranny, averaged 30% unemployment, 40% literacy, and state run media. This is why almost all terrorists come from the middle east.

Now there are 2 free countries in the region. As they develop, others in the region will see their success and emulate it. Eventually (maybe 20-30 years) the whole region can become modern and prosperous and will no longer be a breeding ground for terrorists. But that is only if we help protect the 2 young democracies. If we leave now, the democracies will be toppled and the terrorism will continue for generations.

Is it better to sacrifice a couple thousand lives now, to change the culture of the middle east, or wuss out and watch millions die over the next couple of generations as the terrorists start using chemical weapons and nukes?

You can't actually fight a country to fight the though of terrorism. Whether you will admit it or not, Terrorism does not know boundaries. A gang on the streets of nameless city USA that keeps the public in fear is committing an act of terrorism.

Anything that perpetuates fear is terrorism. The is no actual way to fight a threat that exists in every society world wide. There is no way to stop fear that manifests in the minds of everybody.

There is no way to win.

the "only" way is to show the everyday middle east citizen that they can live among others without killing them. You cant fight anywhere to fix it but it must be a movement. The movement has to start somewhere so that is why I think Iraq is as good as any place. Hussein was ripe for the taking and Iran wanted in to Iraq for their oil so he was a threat or Iran taking over was a threat. there "is" good going on and people are learning. We must show them they do not have to live under what I think is a beat wife mentality. as well as teach them how to fend for them selves and not rely on the "leaders" that use power to rule over them while spreading terrorism.
