Perhaps sometimes. As does ignorance. It isn't bliss. Everything has the potential to bring pain. Love, hate, trust, honesty, etc..

But, they all have the potential to bring joy too.

So there are really only two options. Crawl into a hole and cover yourself and feel and risk nothing. Or go into the world with guns blazing and cherish and relish all that life has to offer.

Sure you'll take some hits. But there is a lot of good out there to enjoy.
