Does anyone else have an opinion about New Line Cinema's position that they've already paid Peter Jackson enough? Since when does it matter how much a person has already been paid if they haven't been paid all they are owed? I wrote a letter to New Line about this and Mr. Sayre's current remark about it, and wonder if I'll receive a response? I doubt it.

It probably won't, but I'm in agreement with you. If they owe the money, pay up. And, I'm rather disappointed that they would take such a stance after the man did such a WONDERFUL job of the other three movies!! After all these years, somebody finally did them justice!

Well, when you think of what Peter Jackson has made for them!!!

I agree in theory with what you are saying, but don't actually know what is going on. I think however, Mr Jackson is owed what he was promised, whether it was a specific dollar amount or a % of income/royalties. Promises should be kept.

And yes MX..... Those books were long considered impossible to translate into a move, but he did it and did it well. Both fans and Tolkien virgins loved them.

? who is peter jackson, i honestly have no idea who he is !, but if they agreed in writing to pay someone a certain amount and that person has done their part as agreed then they should be paid !, but since it's new line cinema, i presume she's an actor or something and they are all way over paid, and snooty in my opinion !
