Sadly no!

Science doesn't come complete with morals - we have to think them up from ourselves and we should because the products of science can be double edged weapons - just look at atomic bombs.

Many people who have spent time thinking about the implications of nanotechnology have tried to warn everyone of the dangers though since if we wait for the technology to mature before deciding how to handle it we could make catastrophic mistakes that would make accidental nuclear explosions seem like minor accidents in comparison. Its an fascinating subject in its own right, take a look at 'engines of creation' or look at www.foresight.org

We must work on ethics and make sure it keeps up with technology - even in the most technologically developed nations I see no evidence that this is done though the changing moral climate does tend to be on a postive slope of change.

What is progress any way, if medicine had not evolved, we would probably be much less people in the planet, we would live with less stress and more land for every one, in each family we would have lost children, is this better or worse? I do not know. I guess progress i science does not translate always in progress in humanity

Progress in science means expansion of knowledge. In general, this has led to a net progress of human well-being. Any specific piece of knowledge can be used for good or ill, or be, at least in the short term, useless. So "necessarily"? No.
