Sheer to Waist doesn't have any support built in, while regular usually tries to have a slimming shaper built in. So, if you need some support, I'd go with regular, otherwise get sheer b/c its more comfortable.
Thigh Highs are the best though, because when you use the bathroom you don't have to peel the whole thing off.

I seldom wear sheer to waist pantyhose unless the dress has a high slit or something like that. There are lots of control top pantyhose that I find to be comfortable. When wearing a control top i often go without wearing panties. A control top can do wonders for your appearance.

I wear sheer to waist 99% of the time - fortunately I don't NEED control top. :-)

Ewwww...girls perfer NO pantyhose! God, I haven't worn them since the 80's.

I hate panty hose. They ride up, shift your underwear around, and squeeze your belly fat. If you must wear hose, get thigh highs. No buldge and no messing with you underwear!
