I live in Northeast Oklahoma and there is this type of insect that keeps finding it's way into my house that I can't name what it is. It's got the legs of a daddy long legs spider, and body of a cricket/grasshopper mix, it doesn't make any noise, it jumps, it's light brown in color, and it's the size of a half dollar. Is this just a weird mutant cricket?

Freaky, bizarre things, aren't they!! They jump in really ODD directions, too. Camel cricket is a good bet for these -- they love moist areas, so check your garage if you have one attached for clusters of them hiding under things or behind things. The vacuum is the best bet for clearing them out if you find a cluster. Good luck!

Hard to say for sure without pictures, but it sounds like a camel cricket to me too.

There are several pictures of camel crickets on this page http://www.whatsthatbug.com/crickets.html
