Women are more likely to faint than men but there is no evidence or studies to support women of certain ethnicity faint more than others.
Fainting is a temporary loss of consciousness due to a drop in blood flow to the brain. The episode is brief (lasting less than a couple of minutes) and is followed by rapid and complete recovery. You may feel lightheaded or dizzy before fainting.

When you faint, you not only experience loss of consciousness, but also loss of muscle tone and paling of color in your face.
You may also feel weak or nauseated just prior to fainting, and you may have the sense that surrounding noises are fading into the background.

Fainting may occur while you are urinating, having a bowel movement (especially if straining), coughing strenuously, or when you have been standing in one place too long.
Fainting can also be related to fear, severe pain, or emotional distress.

A sudden drop in blood pressure can cause you to faint. This may happen if you are bleeding or severely dehydrated.
It can also happen if you stand up very suddenly from a lying position.

Certain medications may lead to fainting by causing a drop in your blood pressure or for another reason. Common drugs that contribute to fainting include those used for anxiety, high blood pressure, nasal congestion, and allergies.

Other reasons you may faint include hyperventilation, use of alcohol or drugs, or low blood sugar.

Less common but more serious reasons include heart disease (like abnormal heart rhythm or heart attack) and stroke.

I don't know of anybody that's been taught it's okay to faint, or anybody that would even teach someone that.

If it's during the day then people are working on the apartment. The apartment may also not be sealed up properly and set properly, so the Air Conditioning and wind can make things blow around. Some hangers are annoying when there is air + open closet. They also some times take this time to check the attic and roof. Unfortunately, some times people sneak in or the former tenants leave pets ( very common these days sadly). You can also get that sound from bugs, rats, squirrels, birds, chipmunks, raccoons,.. etc. If it is at odd hours you could let the complex know. It's always sad when they find abandoned animals inside,.. it's better they find them alive then dead. If there is some sort of pest problem then the pest will be in your home, too, so better to deal with it now. If you are convinced there is a ghost, then talk to them and record in silence to see if they respond. It is unlikely one would just pop up like that. They like to hang out where they were or where their people and things are. An empty apartment isn't that interesting to them.

No, I don't think it's racial. It's a combination of metabolism and conditioning. If you've been taught "It's OK to faint" then you probably might faint more than people who frown on it and some may even fake fainting to get attention.

I'm not a fainter. I've only fainted once, the first time I donated blood. They say you have to weigh 120 or so to donate and I was right at the borderline. I have to say, I didn't like it at all.
