Front Page will require the MS extensions which appear to be available from the MS Home version of the site.

Dreamweaver is best done with an ftp connection, which you can get from even their most basic accounts.

I think Dreamweaver is the more powerful tool so I'll start there.

Go to Tools, Site manager, new site

Follow the basic tool filling in the forms with your site location and your ftp information. Hit the test connection button to see if you can reach your site. Once you're done there, dreamweaver starts you with a few tutorials to work through basic website design.

The next step I always suggest is go out, find something you like, and try to figure out how they did it. Use tools on your browser like view source and save website to capture the code underneath that makes the page work.

Then use the tutorials at http://www.w3schools.com to teach you the basics behind html or really any technology you need. Once you've mastered those skills, go to http://csszengarden.com and learn the tricks the pros are using.

good Luck

Both Frontpage and dreamweaver have tutorials that can get you to the level of being able to design a few pages for your website. Both applications also have functions that allow you to connect to your 1&1 server. You will need your FTP access username and password to publish your pages on your website. Dreamweaver is simpler than frontpage for basic web design.

I can help you, but I need more info. I use Frontpage when I am not using HTML code (Hypertext Markup Language). I prefer HTML, and it is easier to understand. Email me at strategist148@yahoo.com to get more help. Remember!, I need more information.
