I have a 29 gallon tank and I have a Silver Bala Shark and 6 barbs. 3 Green Tigers and 3 Tigers. But when I feed me fish the Barbs eat all the food as quik as they can and the Bala isn't able to get any of the food. Is there a food that my Bala will eat and my barbs won't?

You could add algae tabs to your tank to supplement his diet, as he will eat algae. But don't worry a bala shark will come to the top to eat if heis hungry enough

Bala sharks are bottom feeders you will need a sinking food.Or you can just feed them a good flake food but you will have to hold the food in between two fingers and put it about 1 inch below the water line then release the food this will cause it to sink to the bottom if the barbs are eating all of the food you may need to feed them a little more.Put enough food in the tank to last for about 5 min.

I used to have all those types of fish. I never had a problem with the fish not eating. I would think that when the shark gets more comfortable with his surroundings he will get more aggressive. Barbs are in the middle of the aggressive scale. They will fight for their food, or nip on others, but the Bala should be able to handle himself. I never had problems with their not eating. Remember, he will be able to eat a bit off the bottom of the tank as well. Give him some time.

bala sharks are very nervous fish, and should realy be kept for the larger aquarium, so there are at least six of them.they can reach 10 inches.they are from the barb family.make shure you have a tight fitting lid-hood on your tank as they can jump out.try feeding at different parts of tank so the bala can get some, also if you have real plants in your tank, the bals will finish them off.

just to let you know now. youre going to need a bigger aquarium in the future for the bala. hes gunna get big. give him another day or 2 to get used to the new setting and everything and if he doesnt eat by then you might want to quarintine him and feed him seperately from the barbs.
