I read some of these responses, where talking a week in Vegas right? That means, NO time for site seeing, unless it's that of a new casino! I've been going since I was knee high, and never once to the Hoover D.! Awesome I'm sure, if your there a month and penny-less, maybe? But this is a week, get out there and play the cards feel the table, enjoy the non-winning slots, hey maybe lady luck will be on your side and the slots won't come up empty! I still play them, every chance I get, with the hope of hitting! I'll only admit it, to you first timers. Anyways, enjoy the strip with a foot-long, and a beer, eat some cheap shrimp c-tail , hit a buffet , then make your man spend some $ on some of the finer things Sin city has to offer, starting with spa treatment(very sexy for 2). Oh, and stay the hell away from that roller coaster. I'm still young enough, and can't do it, if your over 30 forget about it!Why is it that every newcomer wants to ride that d-m thing? Sorry did I forget to wish you a happy 10th, sounds like your still in love , you go girl!

Do "The Drive". It's only $10! And you get to drive laps in two different cars for the $10. I drove a Corvette - floored it around the track. And I drove a Hummer on this ridiculous off-road thing.
Basically, it's an advertising thing for GM - test drives for $10 with a professional driver in the passenger seat to keep you straight. '
You have to have ZERO blood alcohol to drive though. They test you. I had a great time.
As for shows and things, March 2008 is SO far away that all of these things will probably change.
We went north of Vegas to Fire something state park. It is real cool. We also went to Hoover Dam (not far).
Pay the money to stay at a cool hotel like the Luxor or Excalibur. It's worth it. We got 4 nights at the Luxor WITH our flight AND a rental car AND meals for $1000 for the two of us. Not bad.

Careful - pickpockets and soliciters are everywhere. Keep your wallet in front pocket for guys - and girls need a "belt type purse worn around your waist".
A thought to consider - if you want points, every casino has the "key card" to get your them. You establish a credit account.
They do a credit check on your, and they have your credit report.
Everyone knows what you owe, and every credit card you have, because when your name pops up for casino ID, they instantly have tons of information about you.
That is their "COMP" PROGRAM, and every casino has one.
If that is what you want, you will get just that.
No thanks, no comp program with my credit report advertised to anyone in any casino for me!
But if you want to have fun: Read on -
There are many deals at expedia.com and travelocity.com
lasvegas.com
There are casinos everywhere - so don't feel you have to lose all of your money at one location.
There are roller coasters on top of tall buildings.
There are white tigers on the first floor side area of the Mirage.
There are outside shows at Treasure Island.
Gambling:
There are many where you can lose $50 without even trying, then win $10, then win another $50.
It's easy to lose $100+ a day minimum, so if you're smart
you'll back away if you lose $20 - and try your luck another time, or another day.
Best location, and I stayed there January 2006, was the Mirage and it's next to Treasure Island, across from Venetian Grand canal, and down the street are Bellagio and the Eiffel tower.
You can walk everywhere, or take the bus when your feet get tired (very cheap).
Don't forget to lunch at the Eiffel tower - pricey but great, great food, and across from the fantastic Bellagio fountains that have themes - yes dancing fountains w/music when you're outside to hear.
Lunch also at the revolving restaurant -where you can see all of Vegas during the day - THE STRATOSPHER. The food was magnificent and you can see if you go at lunchtime - where the people of Las Vegas live and the mountains that surround it.
Las Vegas - I saw Jay Leno and he was non-stop for 1 & 1/2 hours of jokes, and we got the last 2 seats in the far section, and it was still somewhat close because the entertainment area was well done!
We went to see Mystere show - and the best is called "O" which means water in French. The stage actually opens for people to dive into, and then closes for people to walk on it.
So amazing.
At the end of 7 days, I was ready to come home. It's exciting, but not enough to say, wow someday I'd consider living there.
GOD bless us one and all, always.

I recently came back from Las Vegas.
Some of the best hotels to visit are the Venesian, the Wynn, and The Bellagio. They are free to look around it and are absolutely beautiful. Each hotel has a different "theme" from different parts of the world. Go to the Wax Museum in the Venesian and see the free show at Treasure Island. Le Reve at the Wynn was unique but the best show I saw there.

1) Go to the Hoover Dam (pictures do it no justice)- Looks pretty cool with the sun setting also.
2) Take a helicopter ride
3) See at least 2 shows (I only had time for 1, but much better than I expected)
4) Of course, walk the strip (driving takes forever).
They also have those entertainment books that lists all the events going on around that time. They also include coupons and such.

You have to visit as many of the hotels as you can. Every one has something different to offer. One has an aquarium, a few have places to shop, one has amusement rides, and almost everyone has a casino.
There are a lot of live shows to see.
They have some nice clubs if you guys like to party.
The wax museum is cool to visit. I really enjoyed that.
If you like sight-seeing, you might want to visit the Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon.
I hope you guys have a great time!
