I think you'll find that it isn't carrots (or tomatoes) at all! Any protein type food (meat, cheese etc) that you eat turns carrot (or tomato) coloured when it hits your stomach acid. So, when you are sick, hey presto! Carrots! (or tomatoes!).

now, i am a nurse and i didn't know that about the stomach lining,see you learn every day.

i think your body keeps a certain amount back somehow and that muscle reflex only kicks in when you are sick...up come the carrots....uuurrrggghhh!!!....lol..x
