Call the Clerk of your County. The county or municipality would have the information. They would have public real estate records. The Office of the County Clerk is usually responsible for the filing and recording of all documents affecting real estate ownership and transfer within the county (including Deeds, Mortgages, and their related documents, and Federal Tax Liens).
