Tom Brady's success makes him a good QB. When your QB plays well in big games your team will always have a chance to win. Maybe Brady doesn't shred the stat books but what he does is win. A couple of years back I would have agreed that his supporting cast made him better than he seems but this years team is no where near as talented as it has been in the past. There are other quarterbacks that have more natural talent but very few can be as cool under pressure as Brady. I don't really like any of the teams from the North East i.e. Philly, NY, Boston, but I really do appreciate Tom Brady's game. It really does serve him well that he has a great coach. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they ended up in the Superbowl. Of all the teams left the Patriots have most of the experience and know what it takes to get there.

I will copy/paste a little snippet from my answer to the "who's the greatest QB in history" Q
********
Montana and Brady are system QBs!
That doesn't mean they'd suck on other teams (as the systems are meant to take advantage of their own talents), but they wouldn't be held as highly. Also, they were both surrounded by lots of talent. (Brady mainly on D, but montana everywhere).
********
Again, he is one of the best in the league, but people seem to disregard how much a system can help a player/team (there are teams out there who's D's wouldn't be nearly as good w/o their coordinators/coaches (ie: pats) ----why do you think some of histories great teams had "no-name" defenses or offenses --it's because of great coaching). Look at Kurt Warner, he's good, but the system ran in STL made him look great, enough to get 2 MVPs!
And this "cool in the pocket" thing is largely contributed to good O-Lines ---when QBs look flustered in the pocket --it's because the linmen aren't doing a good job of protecting them! Allowing a "QB pressure" is almost as harmful as a full-blown sack.

Did Tom Brady kick the winning FG in Super Bowl XXXVI?
No!
Did Tom Brady kick the winning FG in Super Bowl XXXVIII?
No!
Did Tom Brady kick the winning FG in Super Bowl XXXIX?
No!
Any QB with the Pat's supporting cast could've won 3 Super Bowls.
He's just another average homer.

Those who dislike him are afraid of him. The guy is like a coach out there on the field, knowing where the other 10 guys are supposed to be on a given play, and how those guys should adjust based on the defensive alignment. He has proven to be a winner, with a 12-1 playoff record. He has survived this year with almost all new receivers having to learn the Patriots' complex system and he has led them to a 13-4 record. The guy is a success and is concerened only with Super Bowl wins, not individual accolades like Pro Bowl selections.

Oh yeah Maize and Blue the school whose fans cheered for the baseball player to be the QB. If he didn't go to Michigan he would have been a really big name out of college instead of a late round draft pick.
Key to his success, he is really intelligent and makes good decison along with being very athletic.

Tom Brady reminds me of Joe Montana. He manages the game well, protects the ball and has ice water running through his veins. He hasn't quite reached Montana's performance in a 2 minute drill (best in the business) but he is getting close.

Well this is easy for me to answer. But he's so calm out there on the field during big games, puts up enough points just to squeeze by. Always seems to get it done. I have Much respect for him as an athlete and he is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
