If you no the Employers name then you use one of them.. i think its sincerely, And if you dont no the Employers name then its Faithfully, The best thing for you to do is look at a letter that has been sent to you, or a family member and if the person who sent the letter knew your (or your familys member) first and secound name then check what they have put at the bottom, and the job application your sending if you no the Employers name then you would put the same.

As a general rule if you have used Dear Sir/Madam in the opening, then you should use Yours Faithfully. If you know the name of the person you are writting to (even if you have never met) then Yours Sincerely is most appropriate.

If you know the name of the person you're writing to - use "sincerely". If not, use "faithfully".
Though in practice a lot of people just use "sincerely" now.

Yours faithfully if you write to Dear Sir
Yours sincerely if you write to a person by name.
Also very important to set out the letter properly and check spelling. Get a knowledgeable person to check the English before you send.

I always use "Yours Sincerely" as its more polite, "Yours faithfully" sounds like you have a thing for the person you send the letter to!
