Texas is called the Lone Star because Texas used to be its own country before it fought its independence against Mexico.

That answers both the 1st and 2nd question because the star is alone in the blue because Texas was independent from the US and Mexico.

There are 50 Stars representing how many states.

Hawaii - August 21, 1959
Alaska - January 3, 1959

Texas is called the Lone Star state because of the one star on the flag. Don't know about the part of why there is only one star on the flag! There are 50 stars on the flag to represent each state and the last 2 states are Hawaii and Alaska, don't know when though!

Texas used to be it's own country and it was called the Lone Star Republic which is why when it joined the USA it became the lone star state. That's also why there is just one star on their state flag. There are 50 stars on the USA flag. And the last two states added to the Union were Hawaii and Alaska, but I'm not sure what year it was in. Hope that helps

Alaska and Hawaii are the last two states added to the union. There are 50 stars for 50 states on the American flag- when it was first made, there were 13 to represent the 13 colonies, sewed by Betsy Ross. There is just one star on the texas flag for the very reason you said- it's the Lone Star state, named after Lone Star Beer, and Lone Star chili.

Texas is the lone star state because at one time in its history before we annexed it, it broke away from Mexico and was its own country. There are 50 stars on the American flag, and Alaska(49) and Hawaii(50) were the last two states added to the Union. This occurred in 1959.

Texas is called the Lone Star State simply because it has one star on the state flag. The last two states admitted to the Union were Alaska and Hawaii somewhere around 1950.
