Why exactly is raising 2 dollars so bad? I assume everyone who is against it must be really rich to think the only people who get paid minimal wage is down right stupid or ignortant. Could it be that in rural areas, or others with NO experience have no choice or just need to get some money to survive. While in college just to help pay for school and with no experience I had to take the minimal wage job I NEEDED that day or it would have been gone. Part time, flexible around schedules for my school hour, but 5.15 an hour. I was NEVER stupid or ignorant, but I had to do what I had to do. About 300 dollars after taxes a month. I'm more educated now and with experience and networking you figure out how to make more, but there are people who are just trying to make it. You have a truly distorted vision of America if you think people who don't make enough are just ignorant and dumb. These hardworking cheap labored people are the foundation of the entire economics of this country. They deserve to be able to make it in this country too. If you ever become the head of a company, please don't spit at the Janitor or Secretary or File clerk because you think they are dumb and deserve to be treated with no respect. They have to start somewhere. The EX-CEO of Home Depot can leave with a 210 million severance for doing a bad job, but the little man starting out gets bad less than $6.50 an hour for working his butt off. Where's the justice?

If they raised it to where it was when I was a teenager it would be near $10 an hour.
Income taxes were topped at 90% but everybody you were ever likely to meet was doing well. People still invested and grew businesses like crazy. Real unemployment was very much lower than now. Sales taxes were 2%. I was a clerk in a bait shop making $10.50 an hour in todays money, working after school.
The only people sleeping on the street were drunks on a bender. There were very few of them, and most of them had places to live if they cared to.
Most of Government income (80%) was from Corporations.
Drugs were tested by the Government, not just to prove they weren't harmful, but compared to what existed as well (not done now).
One of the big propaganda items was how long a person would have to work to buy a refrigerator, car, loaf of bread, etc. both in the past and in various countries. They don't do that now as it would cause riots.
The entire national debt, was less than Bush has raised it last year. The list could go on and on.
There were a great many problems, but except for what the South was doing to Blacks, and the crazed fear mongering about the Communists (much like now about "Terrorists") things were better than the US has ever been or is likely to ever be again.

Why dont they advance the minimum salary to twenty money an hour? Or 20 money a minute? If we are saving the worker from grasping employers by using elevating minimum salary why dont we advance it to a good first rate factor. If there is not any damage in elevating the minimum salary a dollar or 2 then why do not you advance it extensively? the reason will grow to be obvious as you imagine about it. What we do not see is the more suitable workers that would were operating at McDonalds for $5 an hour. If the corporation has to pay a minimum of $7.25 in accordance to hour for exertions then he will in trouble-free words employ those that are nicely worth that a lot. The others would get replaced by using including machines or hiring in trouble-free words workers who're more suitable effective. Miniumum salary guidelines truly earnings the wealthy and midsection type on the rate of the unfavorable. If I truly have the alternative of hiring a million worker it truly is nicely worth $14 in accordance to hour and a pair of workers that are nicely worth $7 in accordance to hour i'd ought to employ the single more suitable effective worker because the minimum salary guidelines keep the different 2 decrease paid workers out of the pastime marketplace. they'd ought to bypass to college or get some pastime coaching earlier their exertions is nicely honestly worth the minimum salary.

Gee, you're mad about a two buck raise in the minimum wage, but Congress has no problem ever Misssing a vote to raise their own pay, even when they're systematically mis-managing the country.
Let me add this...so I can cover your question. Raising the wage knocks out the undesirables from the work place. A minimum wage is implace to prevent wage competition to bid down wages so the least qualified or most desperate people from doing work such as building bridges. Example...if you're contractor and you are going to build an airport. On a free labor market, people will bid down their wages to work and allow you to make the most profit. As the wages get lower more people drop out because its gets to the point where good people won't get out of bed for. So what's left over...are the illegal immigrants and the crackheads who will work for the cheapest price to build this airport. Old arguement...a free market needs rules or worst nature of man's abilty to exploit others for profit will create a mess. I hope that covers your question.

You are pathetic.....you have to consider they only get the raise if it makes it thought the Senate....and if it does then they only go up to $5.85 after 60 days of passage of the Bill....then they go to $6.25 a year later....then $7.25 a year after that....can you survive on that??? To give them something is better than giving them nothing for the last 11 years...even though the legislation has voted to raise there own in the sum of about $32,000.00 in the last 11 years. Do you ever get a raise? Thought so....
I don't think so....so quit being retarded and ask a legitimate question!
As far as I am concerned there is no real question here to answer...just a individual who is looking to pick a political argument as you have so elegantly done....so ask a real question and you will get a real answer!

You are going to get a lot of dump liberal response so I will explain it to them.
When you raise the minimum wages to $7.50 all the people making $7.50 or above now will want a raise why should they with more skill make close to what some unskilled loser make.
Business that will need to stay even on their profit will either have to raise prices or layoff workers, hence after a short time the minimum wage worker is right back where he started pointless?

Raising the minimum wage causes more problems than anything.
When you raise it everything we buy has to go up.
It's a catch 22.
Stupid poor people think it's a great idea, but you're still on the bottom of income.

Being a socialist, let me say this: the less you do, the more you get paid, the more you do, the less you get paid. Managers are paid WAY too much, and companies fail because their, not our, wages are way too high.
