It's his real name, but it was almost "Michael". His father was Martin Luther King, and the attending physician at the time of Martin Luther King Jr's birth mistakenly entered the name "Michael" on the birth certificate.

I dont know.........I know that it is not martin luther king...........he and his father changed there names when they learned about Martin Luther.....He was someone who protested against the church..........
