Yes, but the reasons for it all go in dizzying circles. You could blame it on TV. Why are they in front of the TV so much though? Because their parents have to work 25 hrs a day to feed them and clothe them. But then the parents spoil their kids with stuff because they feel guilty for never seeing them, because they're at work all the time. Then there's the schools. The kids are all rotten because they have no family structure, so they act out in class, teachers can't touch them because the parents will sue (and wouldn't have to work their lousy jobs anymore). P.S. Then they'd spoil their kids again cuz that's how they got the money in the first place! So basically I say, go back to working 8 hrs a day for a living wage, get rid of MTV and Disney Channel and all other similar trash, and quit suing for every little thing. And, if you want my serious answer, the whole country is a mess, and is out of control, if family was anything near where it should be, this wouldn't be an issue. Good luck on that though because you have to live at work just to have a roof over your head these days. How to fix it...open your own business and quit shopping at Wal Mart's and watching MTV's and eating at the big fast-food joints, get involved in your community and get everything localized. Get the families back together by working the business together, and the kids will be smarter and have more respect, I promise.

While I am a youth, I can agree with some things. Some kids just like the music too loud.
Secondly, changing the voting age is just stupid. That is like the government saying that you cannot vote once you stop going outside longer than 10 hours a week. Just plain stupid. Why can't we have a say in how to change things?
Third, the reason you can't do that kind of punishment in school is because it not only encourages the kids to be violent, teachers will abuse the privilege. Beating kids for no good reason should be illegal. Thats like if you hate your job, I should punch you so you are more productive.
And finally, I don't know what your problem is with kids driving. Have you ever seen old age people drive? 35mph in a 55mph area is idiotic, and dangerous. Maybe there should be a age limit for driving too. Once you hit 66, perhaps?
Finally, the whole "back in my day" for sex ed is ridiculous. Guess what? It has been a few years, and things have changed. So, learn to change with the times, or just stay out of the way please.

Today's youth is spoiled, rotten, undiciplined little brats. I blame this on the parents. Whoever came up with "time-out" needs their butt beat. I have heard more parents tell their children 10 times the same thing and that child continues on. That parent is not doing a good job and should be smacked. Every kid needs their butt beat at one time or another. I don't care who doesn't agree with me on this. Take a look around. None of my generation has ever disrespected their parents like they do today. I would knock my children in the mouth if they ever spoke to me so disrespectfully. I think too many parents are trying to push their brats off on the school to deal with, well it's not their job. You laid down and brought those hellions in this world and you are the only one who can make them into descent human beings. Don't blame society for our children. This world has been corrupt since Satan was cast down here and people have still managed not to fall prey to all the crap. Teach your children and show them how to be descent people. Stop blaming everyone for what you have created. Thank you and GOD bless.

Are you serious? Yes I agree kids are a bit out of control but I believe condoms should definitely be kept IN school, to deny the obvious and end the availability of condoms is simply idiocy!! corporeal punishment....I agree again to an extent driving i could care less and voting 18 is good, if you can fight a war you should be in-titled to a beer and a voting both.
"Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in
place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room;
they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their
food and tyrannize their teachers."
(Socrates, 5th Century BC)
I got news for you.....when you were young some old man said the same thing about you.

I agree! In my time there was no IPod, playstation, cell phones in school, txt messaging during class and internet to get answers to homework. We had a radio at home, respect for our parents, teachers and authorities and most of all we had libraries to go find answers to our homework. We worked hard to get something we wanted to buy. These kids today have it made in the shade, everything is served to them on a silver platter!

I work with American teens with behavior 'problems'. Among many other factors, I believe, no - I KNOW, that parents are the people to blame.
Schools are too easy.
TV and media are everywhere, constantly bombarding them with absolute crap. Just crap.
Consequences to their actions are minimal.
They are baby fed and coddled.
I could rant and rave all day about this, but I suppose I won't...

I agree. So many are so arrogant and disrespectful of any adults.
But I do know a FEW that aren't. Too bad we don't see on the news of what good kids do.
