Have had this happen to me 3 times in my life already, all little old ladies, two of them the husband had just died, and the other I dont know...I asked what was wrong, and they boo-hooed, so I just put my arms around them and said I understood, and things would get better. That small hug seemed to help..all of them.

Standing next to a stranger is one thing, but sitting........... woh, now that is something we shouldnt do. Unless its an almost safe public place, eg, doctors, dentists, train but the best thing to do is A, C, and B

I've done that...I've cried on the street before standing next to a person and that person doesn't even care. People just stare...

A and E. But I would see if they need help or anything. Some people just need to know that someone out there cares.

I would ask what's wrong. Or more so if they were going to be OK or if they wanted to talk about something.
