Yahoo Answers is a bit unique, so no, you won't find anything quite like it. However, Yahoo Answers is related to what are known as internet forums. If you want to create a community for discussions, you want a forum.

There's a few choices for forum software that are worth looking into.

vBulletin is the most popular. It also costs money.
Simple Machines Forum (SMF) is good and free.
punBB is also free.

The rest have flaws. PhpBB is really popular, but is weak on security. Hackers have had a field day with it...Invision, if I remember, had flaws as well.

Hi !
I use Visual Basic Mk 6.
It seems to be easy to drive, and creates a web-site.
Not too pricy at £60, and fine to install & operate.
Pictures, text, moving graphics, and whatever you fancy.
I introduced it to the RSPB in Sandy, Beds.
They are happy !
Just call up RSPB. and veiw my humble input.
All the best, and get the company to pay for the software !
Oh - and take a copy for home useage.
Bob.
