Try unplugging it, so it will reset its self.
If that will not work, then get a screwdriver and slide it under the lock and break it free.
Hope this helps.

The door probably won't open because it has some water inside. First switch it off at the mains and wait a few seconds nad turn it on again. Look to see if you have a "pump out" option and if so use this - it will empty the water and open the door. If you don't have a pump out option put it on the quickest wash cycle you have. It should knock it into gear and you will be able to open the door. It has happened to me so many times before!

What kind of washer? Mine just did this to me a few weeks ago. I ended up taking my clothes to the laundry mat, where I had them wash them for $1 per pound. It cost about $50 but my clothes were clean and folded when I picked them up the same day. I waited 2 weeks for the part to come in, and my husband was able to install it easily.

take the drain hose out at the back and drain it into a bowl keep the hose as low as possible the water will empty out of your machine it sounds like youve got a blocked pump if you have a small hatch type thing on the front of your machine open it to clean the filter ihad the same problem yesterday and i watched the engineer do it it worked after that good luck

Unplug your, machine and try to take the top off which is held down with small screws. Then look inside by the door. There should be a microswitch there . Press the switch and see if it will open then.

it would help if we had the make of the machine, but try setting to spin and se if that helps. if not if it has a button on the control panel you will have to take the top of and locate the cord that runs down to the door interlock and pull where the cord attaches if it has a door handle you will still have to remove top and see if you can release by fiddling with lock, remove from electric before starting good luck

Stupid question but have you checked washer is not on a hold type cycle thing and has actually come to end? My washer holds clothes in water till I move to final drain and spin? Real pain in the backside especially if I put load in before work!!!!

You have a choice; fill the bath take off your shoe and start walking or take the clothes to a laundry mat. You can also ask a friend if you can use theirs.

I would probably stop spending your time on the net talking about how long it takes to wash the cloths by hand and jsut do it. Also you cancel your internet connection so that you could afford a new washing mashine that works.

Turn the knob to the end of the cycle. It could think it's in the middle of a cycle and therefore not want to open.
When it's at the end it should open.
