I have a Fuji Digital stills camera with a movie facility that will film till the memory card is full...I have been messing with the films in Windows Movie maker; adding effects and so on...I want to burn them to dvd so as to play in home dvd player..Tried that already, but player wont recognise disc, saying "error"(burned onto dvd+ discs ????)....I am aware I would need to save the files in another format before burning to dvd disc??..What formatt is the most suitable? What software ( free is possible) would be the best to download and use??.I don't want free software that that hangs an unregistered banner on finished movie..!!!
3 questions: What format do I need to save to?.., could it just be I should use dvd- discs to burn to as maybe then the player will regognise them,???? or is it just the WMA format needs changed to a compatible format...????

Answers on a post card please....

Just download a converter to turn ur windows movie files into a DVD format.

Secondly, check that ur player can take those disks by reading the instructions or a label on the front of the player. Chances are that it can.

Thirdly, burn the files to the disk using a specialised burner such as nero.

You need software for:
1. To convert files to the correct format (any video converter)
2. To burn the files to the disk (Use Nero)

Job done.

ok dude first of it all, if i'm right your burning it to a dvd-r as data right? thats wrong in the first place, because you need to have a dvd burner and dvd burning software, if you get something like nuro or something, when you choose the dvd funtion it will convert it into .VOD file then it'll convert it, but if you want to convert it yourself you could go to download.com and download eather superfever or #1 converter... that'll do

yes it could just be as simple as your dvd player wont play the + format. - is the most common. i find all this converting of formats a bit confusing. one thing i can tell you is i use roxio to create dvd -r & -rw discs of downloaded films and stuff from my camcorder and they always work for me.
