Wow. People are stupid.
If you can go and die for some idiot cowboy president....then you should be able to strip and drink and do whatever the hell you want.
"This staff sergeant's alleged action does not meet the high standards we expect of our airmen, nor does it comply with the Air Force's core values of integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do," Oscar Balladares, spokesman for Lackland Air Force Base, said in a statement.
How much do you want to bet Mr. Balladares has a stack of magazines a lot more graphic then playboy sitting on top of his toilet?
How does that have anything to do with what she does in her spare time?
Is the Air Force a Christian organization now? She wasn't doing anything illegal....so what ethical ground is this jackass spokesman standing on?
I think it's funny how people can talk about the troops "dying and fighting for our freedom" out of one side of their mouths, and deny these same freedoms to these people when they come home!

It is the uniform. The uniform identifies the country. The man in the uniform is the one the enemy is trying to kill. It was when women stood above us in regards to war; that the men went into the battlefield and lost to win. They lost limbs, sight, comrades, battles, blood, and their own lives.
Recently in this trying world the women have taken to the fields of war. Now they too have inherited this military law to as great a degree as the old soldiers owned.
This is something that is sacred to a soldier, even more so to the true warrior of battle. The uniform identifies the army of a nation, it is the cloth we cover ourselves in, and the soldiers have died in those bloodstained threads of valour and courage.
The uniform is damn near sacred to the warrior and it's image is not to be diminished in any way.It is to be honoured' and any soldier who stains the uniform with mud of a different kind...then they answer to their commanding officer. They answer to the rest of the army. And their answer had better be damn well good.
Civilians do not understand that when you legally don the uniform then you are immediatly under two laws.
First the military law; then the civilian law. If you break the law the the military has every right in the country to take you to the military courts first. Then the civilians can have their day in court. The chances are good that if you murder in uniform then you can by law pay twice! First in the military and secondly ...answer the civilians to whom you were sworn to protect.
If you disgrace the uniform then you have disgraced the memory of all men, and women who have died in that uniform. Those dead in uniform and those that are the walking dead in uniform deserve better of their comrades.
And to hell with what the civilians think.
My father was a warrior of the "Canadian Armed Forces" I have lived on bases all my life, and I can tell you that even as a citizen I would want the offender (of my nation, or allied to my nation) to answer for any indescretion splattered on the uniform.
This uniform along with allies of the past has fought in two great wars Whether this current war is a pointless war or not; it is still the uniform that must be held to a degree of esteem. Or else suffer the consequences of a lacklustre force who could care less for the military dignity; and have a greater concern for the pocket book, the ego.
She literally disregarded the sanctity of the fallen in allowing her uniform to fall to the ground in such a tastles fashion. Whatever her reason was; it was not good enough for the hundreds of thousands that wore that uniform in honour.
Spending decades growing up in a military environment I would say that "I" this civilian would not accept her replies, nor excuses for her acitons. She is an NCO for crying out loud!!! She knew better.......

individuals relatively do no longer understand what war is. they have generally been spared any real injury from war or maybe with loss a number of existence they have emerged greater advantageous ecomonically from practically each and all the the final centuries wars. Europe, Japan, Russia, China, the a approaches East and the midsection East all understand what that's opt to have their international places devasted and hundreds of thousands of their voters killed. united states of america of america has yet to check the real draw back of war. human beings like McCain are area of the protection stress commercial complicated and his first loyalty is to the protection stress and not the folk of this usa. As for gays interior the protection stress - who'd opt to be a factor of something so disgraceful as legally sanctioned discrimination? Disgusting.

Why can a company fire you for surfing porn at work, even if no one but you sees it?
Because when you join a company, one of the numerous waivers you sign, is you will not use company computers to view inappropriate material.
When you join any branch of the US Armed Forces, you sign a similar waiver regarding your behavior. She violated this waiver.
The Air Force is in the right, and she is in the wrong.
If she wanted to pose nude in Playboy, she is free to do so when she gets out of the military.
This was a pretty dumb decision on her part. With only seven years left, she could end up getting discharged from the Air Force and lose her retirement.

While I 'might' agree that Staff Sgt. Manhart's selling her b**t to Playboy may not be up to the high moral standards of our military, it is apparently not beneath those high moral standards for the military to advertise in those magazines and sell the at the PX.
I also see that Staff Sgt. Manhart served in Kuwait. I think she is pretty much entitled to do what she wants. Isn't she a hero??

People who volunteer to serve the country as a member of the military sign contracts which naturally limits some of their rights and freedoms.
A significant part of that is regarding personal conduct. All military personnel are expected to comport themselves to a high level of personal conduct and integrity because they are each a representative of this nation. Low standards of conduct are unacceptable and subject to administrative action.
This is what we all signed up when we entered. There are no exceptions, no excuses. And there is no sense whining about it.

You are comparing apples and oranges.
The military is entitled to set behavioral standards, and selling ones *** to a skin magazine for money doesn't exactly qualify.
And ANYONE who would sacrifice their time and safety for the defense of their country and for freedom is a courageous HERO.
Are these distinctions really difficult for you to comprehend?

"pointless" is only your opinion. The lady in question agreed to a code of conduct when she volunteered. If you can't live by the rules, don't join up.
