I suppose this could be possible.
On average , only 1 percent of people remember their dreams. The unconscious mind will most likely lead us to take action. If for the good or not is to be seen.
Nightmares on the other hand are remembered more frequently...which could prohibit one from making sound decisions...

Some dreams tend to be premonitions and I sometimes wonder whether deja vu is a consciously forgotten dream. Funny thing is though, some dreams are so bizarre and one can not make out who or what the meaning is until it is too late and other times they are so terrifying and leave you feeling a bit wacko. I had a premonition once about being hit by a speeding bus that came true and left me very shaken that I pleaded with the angels not to let me see anymore. Luckily the feeling of deja vu was so intense as it involved a sequence of events and the thought I am stuck in yesterday caused me to literally stop running, the bus missed me by a single step. Remembering that day makes me shiver as it is still as vivid as though it happened not so long ago. I still dream about things when I'm in a pickle or headed in a destructive direction. I have accepted that it is an ability to be appreciated but I'm still not very comfortable with it (too much controversy). I haven't harnessed it yet and still get things all mixed up and misinterpreted until they come to pass but I have grasped a few guiding symbols and action courses.

Dreams are escapes, yet some tend to be for the worst.
Those who have depressing dreams will wake up happy, while those who have dreams of great achievements will wake up to find that they're back in their ordinary life and become depressed.

Sure... Sometimes dreams revel things that you unconsciously kept hidden from yourself. So they can initiate a revelation and changes in your behaviour or in the course of your life. Sometimes they just inspire you and make you creative in the waking world.

I think so because many times they deal with situations that are confronting us in our 'real' lives. They can serve as a means to work through any problems or issues and I also feel that sometimes the emotions that are felt within them can also transcend into our actual lives causing us to reevaluate how we feel about things and how we want to handle them.

Usually the opposite; they encourage us to stop and think, and re-evaluate out circumstances.
