Well, first of all. It's almost impossible to do this anymore because of caller ID. And don't think you'll get an answer by blocking your number...

Nonetheless, it's a form of harrassment, so yes. Technically it's illegal; perhaps a class-1 misdemeanor that will probably not be enforced.

Now, if you crank callm let's say, President Bush, it's a felony.
And not only will they enforce this law, they'll most like send the Navy SEAL through your bedroom window, tie you up like Little Bo-Peep, and spank you like the bad boy you are.

Yes, i would consider it illegal because you're invading someone else's privacy and even time. "Prank Calling" means that you're putting a joke on someone..and it's not right to do it because you're basically doing it in purpose. However, if you call someoneaccidentally wrong number, then it's not a prank..because it's accident not you do not intend to do it..and it's not on purpose..PRANK CALLING is definitely illegal..so yes

AS someone one REPLIED ABOVE as long as no one gets hurt well, im in cx debate and it states that in situational crimes like this once a person prank calls someone it puts the person getting called in situational danger which is the person whos being called could be recieving verbal abuse from the pranker about killing the one getting pranked so in the law it says no one shall put another citizen in situational danger according to law.

In the State I live in yes, I would suspect most states have a law against it, if your even in the USA! Get caller ID and put a block on private calls it works good for me!
