Truthfully yes, The foundation of the world economy is the petroleum industry. With the expansion of the Chinese and Indian economies and the increasing demand for oil our very survival depends on our ability to control resources. Anyone who can't see this or admit the truth is either naive or so blinded by ideology they can't see the truth.

Until we can develop a reliable alternate energy source that will lessen the global demand for oil, wars like the one in Iraq are going to more and more common place.

Maybe some of you better check out how Iraq is being split up amongst the major Oil Companies and realize it was all about Oil. Some of you Americans don't even realize what has happened with Iraq, some of you are totally clueless and don't even want to know the truth. There are those that do realize what has happened as we research instead of insulting that liberals are stupid or other offensive insults coming from those with limited intelligence.

Patience, one of these days you will grow up and realise it was never about oil. IF it were the 130K that are in Iraq would be doing nothing but guarding the oil and shooting on sight anyone who wasn't supposed to be around. 130K is a more than ample force to guard oil.

yep. every president since truman (maybe longer; I have the statements from him on so I can verify those) has said we will do whatever it takes to protect americas interests in the middle east. sorry you dont understand that but our economy is tied to oil. if we get cut out of the middle east as Iran syria russia and venezuala wants we would crumble. Yesterday in the foreign intelligence hearing "everyone" let me repeat "everyone" said they understand the importance of our involvement with ME oil. Sen Jim Webb stated we have access to only 6 % of ME Oil and Iran and Russia is trying to get control of that. there is no getting away from it as of now.

Our "big bully" nation still gives your ignorant self the freedom to spout such propaganda garbage. I am quite sure the "big bully"'s feelings won't be hurt if you decide to relocate to another less bullying nation, like Cuba or Venezuela. And don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Why not start a new trend? Park your car, and walk everywhere. Then you wont be supporting those meanies who are hurting your feelings. Educate yourself; actually read about the war, rather than get your opinions and biases from some MSNBC sound bite.

our need for oil is great because americans are spoiled. but FYI; we are not killing iraqis for oil. we are killoing them because they are killing us. if we're a big bully, we would have taken over the country. instead, we tried to help.
