No problem, if you bought it new. Tell the shop that you bought it from that you're going to claim for a new replacement (if they don't fix it) under the "Supply and Sale of Goods Act 1994". Under that act it states that goods must last a reasonable amount of time and do the job it was purchased for. Two years is not reasonable if you looked after it, and that is why one should not purchase extended warranties because the statute of limitations is 6yrs.

I wouldn't rent one! Take a look at these answers from a few days ago. Buy a German machine, you'll be very unlucky if you have any problems, and you can always take extra cover anyway for after the 2 year warranty.

Having repaired a few I find the biggest fault is that people do not switch off the power when selecting the wash cycle ( if it has a rotational selector ). This can cause arcing of the contacts and premature failure.

People tend to easily make the mistake of over-loading their washers and their dryers. Don't fill them to the max, ever, even if they say you can.
And once in a while, for maintenance, run a load without any clothes in there and just a little bit of bleach to clean it out and freshen it up again.

SOunds like you are probably over loading your washer causing it to break down. Read your manual to find out how much clothes you can safely put in there without cauing damage.

Here in the US when you buy an appliance the store usually offeres insurance for a few extra dollars. If they offer it where you are it seems like a wise investment for you...

Most home insurances do a `new for old cover`.Try ringing them and see if you can claim for your washing machine.
Why don't you go to yell.com,and see what they have on washing machine repairs, you could save yourself a bundle.

Hi,

We rent our washing machine as we have two young children who go through clothes like they are literally going out of fashion!

Give these peeps a call, we have never had any trouble.
