Do I still need another trash can in the kitchen if I get a trash compactor?

Yep, you can't put organics into most compactors , only into disposals. Thats a different machine. And you should put plastics and glass into a recycling bin, seperately. Your trash compactor would really reek.

Yes - you don't want to put food in the compactor, it'll get stinky. And you should NEVER put aerosol cans into a compactor, they'll explode!

yes because all your trash cannot be compacted....
