Your question is a bit hard to follow... but in most cases you will not be allowed to play online while the modchip is on. That is why newer modchips have a function to turn it off (sleep mode) to play online. Following along that logical path... copied games will not work online.

I do not know if you can run a boot disc and play a copied game online.

Hope this helps.

And for the record, I do not condone the use of modchips.

Some games like SOCOM have to be registered online to play them. It's to stop people abusing other players and cheating. Unfortunately for you this also means that if you've got a pirate copy of a game you can't use it to play online. Go out and buy the games second hand and chuck the pirate stuff in the bin. ps I wouldn't come on a forum like this and admit that you are using copies (it's against the law you know?).

As far as I know, sony has a way of detecting modded ps2s and keeping them from playing online.
