I haven't heard of anybody attacking the President. How bad did he get hurt and WTF was the Secret Service doing that let someone get that close to the President?

Patriotism is soley love for one's country and the willingness to defend it. I'm willing to defend it and I love my country. It has little to do with loving your leader. Why? Because the point of America and freedom of speech is to talk about and criticize leaders to help them IMPROVE. When you discuss an error in something it's so that you know how to better improve it. That's the point. I'm suprised you don't know this, I learned it in 3rd grade when they were explaining democracy and then again in 10th grade when learning why Communism and Fascism is different.

To YNotGayle,

My hatred for the president is far from off the boat. I'm completely in control of it and I know the difference between a mistake the President does (immigration policy, Iraq War, etc...) and what's not. Your generalization is far from true and I suggest you rethink your bias. I know that conservatives, especially the ones I disagree with, are not necessarily stupid or any other such nonesense that I hear from some liberals.

As I said: rethink your bias.

To LadySable,

Do you expect us to keep quiet during war? What if we, lets say, nuked Britain, Canada, Japan, and all of our other allies because we were tired of them. Ridiculous I know but what if we went into a war you definitely felt was not worth being in. You would be quiet because you don't want to lower moral? Fascist Germany used that tactic to keep people from questioning the war and kept them from talking about it too much. Because you know what happens when you discuss something for a long period of time? You get to know it and the subject better. Don't tell me I can't criticize the war or the president, just debate with me. That way we can find a better middle ground that makes more people happy and is a better solution. You know... that's the whole point of debate in this country.

Look up the definition of DISSENT.
This is America.
......and it's actually VERY patriotic!

There are no consequences in disagreeing with the president.

....and you'd have a different outlook if you used your brain to think instead of watching Fox News and believing everything you hear!

.....Funny.......not ONE conservative / republican can answer your question intellectually. Read them! They're all insults and whining attacks. But, this is America~!

Unpatriotic? The day Americans can't criticize there leaders is the day this country ceases being free.

Disagreeing with his policies is not the same as attacking the President. Disagreeing with your government is not being unpatriotic. In my opinion, it is a form of great patriotism to stand up against your government. It shows just how free we are in this country. Think of all the countries in the world that do not have that option.

Look up "1st amendment". The same amendment that allows you to accuse people wrongfully of being unpatriotic in a public forum.

You must be hiding behind beavis you BUTTHEAD !
PATRIOTISM is for the PEOPLE,,,NOT the government or the president. Patriotism is defending the constitution. Patriotism is loving the PEOPLE , ie..WE THE PEOPLE !!
The President deserves and expects criticism. He knew that when he took office. The government is supposed to SERVE the people. Not the other way around, and another thing, this is supposed to be a REPUBLICAN form of government NOT a DEMOCRACY !

How long is this foolish notion that questioning your president, when he is clearly a lunatic with no qualms about sending innocents to die, is somehow anti-American and anti-Patriotic?

Label it how you like. When someone is coercing young poor people to go to their deaths, destroys the ideals of this great nation, and makes money off it, hell yeah I'm going to call them out.

I beg your pardon? Attacking him, yes, but exactly how patriotic is just sitting by and not saying anything if he does do something out of order, which he has done several times, by the way.

This is why,Pentagon military planners this week warned President George W. Bush that his "troop surge" plan could double U.S. casualties in Iraq in the coming year and result in 10,000 or more American deaths by the end of 2008. In a classified assessment memo, military experts predicted violence against U.S. troops will increase "at a sustained pace" and concluded that increasing the use of soldiers for house to house searches in Baghdad will "dramatically alter" the "ratio of casualties to actions" in that civil-war torn city, says a military source familiar with the memo.

I love the USA. I can't stand it's current leaders. This does not make me unpatriotic. I agree with whoever said you need to read the Constitution.
