Several studies have shown that reiki healing increases the WBC count in the body thereby strengthening the immune system, apart from relaxing the patient.
Often during a full-body reiki healing session, patients feel so relaxed that they fall asleep. Others feel vibrations whereever the healer places his/ her hands. Some feel relief from their ailments immediately, while in chronic ailments, reiki takes longer to heal as it attacks the root cause.
Some people think that reiki is nothing but belief. How nice, if belief could cure you from such host of ailments, then I think belief is something we should all have.

There is considerable controversy regarding the legitimacy of reiki. Some studies have shown that the effect of Reiki is similar to that of a placebo, and the majority of the scientific community considers it classifiable as pseudoscience

I have seen reiki work effectively on many people. Many hospitals and cancer institutes are utilizing reiki practitioners to help patients with pain and recovery.
Many misinformed people that are not educated about reiki make vague statements about it.
I am a reiki level 2.
