1. TV...beneficial or harmful?
2. Home schooling vs. public schooling
3. An adult is classified as someone 18 and over. This is true for all legal issues and serving in the military. But the legal drinking age is 21...is such a difference necessary?
4. Colleges were once intended to be schools where people went just to learn...learning for the sake of learning. Now, they are moving toward more career-training, making it almost mandatory that most people attend college for jobs that they wouldn't have needed to 20 years ago. Is this shift good or bad?
5. Do adopted children have the right to have access to information about who their biological parents are, when the biological parents do not want to be found?

Well what about 1) the homosexual marrages being made legal in britain or 2) Scotlands Smokeing Ban or 3) George W. Bush sending more soldiers into Iraq to a war that not everyone believes in. or you could look at 4) Abortions or 5) The arguement between Animal Charities and Disability Charities

Hope this helps! I know most are UK current affairs so they maynot be of much use!

What about
the bringing in of an Australian 'National Smart Card', not sure of the exact name that they are going for today, but it is basically one card for everything with ALL of you details, I mean ALL of them so it is easier for each individual to just carry around one card for everything; and also easier for Big Brother to track an individual if it comes about.

Always worth looking at other countries for ideas. You might get better marks for originality, and be able to spread a little more information!
Good Luck!

You need to focus on things you are interested in. Legalizing drugs? forcing taxpayers to pay for prescription medicines? Government controlled schools? The teaching of religion (evolution) in taxpayer supported government schools.? Forcing taxpayers to pay for stem cell research? Government is the problem, not the solution.?
