My laptop doesn't play some of the dvd's. It won't even acknowledge there's even a disc in the dvd player...but only with some, the rest play fine...WHY?????

Because they are sent out so much the quality of the disk isn't as good. I had similar problems, some dvd players are more sensitive than others. You can log onto your account and let them know, I did that and then sent it back with a note in the envelope explaining what had happened. Unfortunately, because you pay monthly there isn't much they can refund you.

who knows...try them in a regular DVD player

I've only had 1 problem with a DVD from netflix...i kept getting a read error when in my computer...it worked fine in my dvd player tho but i ended up reporting it as damaged and getting a replacement sent

That would be due to the copyright protection put in place during the DVD's manufacturing, not because of anything Netflix did.
