I took the PSAT in October and I got a 57, 54, and a 48. I'm taking the real SAT test in April and I need to know how I can get these scores higher. Also, are these numbers average, above average, or below average?

Those scores are out of 80. Add a 0 to the end of each score and you would have your SAT score, which is out of 800 on each section. I would say those scores are pretty average, maybe slightly above average. Buy the SAT prep book by the Princeton Review. Read their tips, take the practice tests, and practice more on the type of question you miss the most. I would focus more on the area you got a 48 on. If there is a local SAT prep class to take, sign up.

It depends on what university you wish to attend, but I would say "good" SAT scores are 630 and up per section.

Your purpose is obtainable - in spite of the shown fact that, once you're a junior or youthful, I rather advise the two taking the June SAT the EARLIEST or waiting until the October SAT to work out that enormous of an progression. progression takes a great form of tricky artwork and self-discipline. The SAT is a hyper-specific try - it in basic terms assessments how properly you're at taking the SAT, no longer how clever you're. that's intentionally frustrating. the excellent thank you to strengthen is to become conscious of the examination - by applying taking it over, and over, and yet returned with the aid of prepare assessments. in case you have no longer completed so already, circulate out and purchase the college Board blue e book, and doubtless Barron's SAT or McGraw Hill's 12 actual SATs. those are the books maximum tutors use via fact they have questions maximum like the actual SAT. Set a particular learn schedule, alongside with Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 - 6pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm. in case you do no longer set aside a schedule, you in all danger won't take a seat and learn. in case you have the potential, talk on your mothers and fathers some application or a teach. i do no longer advise a school room direction - those are for the "time-honored" pupil who score 1500, and that they are so ridiculously standardized it won't help you the place you desire it. quite, take a lot of finished-length, timed diagnostic exams and persist with a learn schedule - or purchase a application that provide you with specific classes and a schedule. in case you want loose prepare top away, acquire the loose diagnostic examination from the college Board internet site and sign in for the question of the day. additionally, start up working on your vocab ASAP - it is going to help strengthen the two your examining and Writing scores. there's a loose internet site for SAT vocab I secure below. while you're set on taking the June SAT, please please commence top away!
