The NHS, Road Traffic Act (making it illegal not to have a tracking device in your car), making it compulsory to teach gay relationships in school, ever increasing taxes, prison reforms, school reforms, banning smoking, race hate laws, restricting freedom of speech, banning protests, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.....
Whatever aspect of modern life it is, New Labour don't seem to be satisfied until they have meddled in it and totally ****ed everything up. There seems to be new legislation coming out every single week, and not one bit of it is for OUR benefit.
What is this country coming to?!

I totally agree. Putting it simply, the government is turning this country into a rabbit-hutch nation, as in, everyone stay in your homes, don't speak out, don't stand up and be counted, give up your liberties, =rabbit-hutch nation, the one where everyone looks to T.V. for hope, the one where T.V. is their god.

Well labour has aways been know as a "nanny government", they like to meddle into everything, We could all vote conservative in the next elections, but then they will run down schools, national health and tax everything that affects the average person.
For years this has been going on and its about time something happened in this country to put a stop to it. Maybe its time we had a new political set up, how about a coalition government, made up of all parties. It worked during the 2nd world war. things got done and there was none of this silly bantering that goes on in the House of Commons today, after all we pay there wages and they are our servants, not our masters !!!

I think that the changes are being implemented during a very unsettled time in history and mistakes will happen. No one is perfect.
I think it is difficult to judge what is happening right now accurately. Only time will tell if these things are making for a better nation or not. I personally believe it is getting better and I find it difficult to believe that anyone out there on the scene can do a better job at the moment.

No.Tony Blair's government has created more than 3,000 new criminal offences during its nine-year tenure, one for almost every day it has been in power.!!!!!!!!!! Its what one might call a "frenzied approach to law-making"!
The 3,000-plus offences have been driven on to the statute book by an administration that has faced repeated charges of meddling in the everyday lives of citizens, from restricting freedom of speech to planning to issue identity cards to all adults.
In total, the Government has brought in 3,023 offences since May 1997. They comprise 1,169 introduced by primary legislation - debated in Parliament - and 1,854 by secondary legislation such as statutory instruments and orders in council.
Labour is creating offences at twice the rate of the previous Tory administration, who had fewer than 500..
This provides a devastating insight into the real legacy of nine years of New Labour government - a frenzied approach to law-making, thousands of new offences, an illiberal belief in heavy-handed regulation, an obsession with controlling the minutiae of everyday life...........................

People forget that 'New Labour' is simply a disguise for socialism and socialist love to control every aspect of other peoples lives. Even worse they tell us not to do things that they are doing all the time, hypocrisy is the name of the game. Just look at the latest 'guff' from Bliar on the forces. After ten years he is going to sort out everything he now admits is wrong, how come it took ten years I ask.

You didn't mention taking away our rights in the country. He wants us all to live in cities, or maybe turn our island into one big city. We aren't allowed to hunt foxes because it's cruel, instead we can poison them, shoot them or run them over in our cars. We can't have our gundogs tails docked, instead we have to wait until they are damaged while out working then pay a fortune to a vet to do what should have been done in the first place. Eventualy our countryside sports will all be gone, shooting and fishing will be next just wait and see.

I totally agree. It will soon come to the point where we have to pay Oxygen tax. I will definatly NOT be voting for Labour. I shall use my freedom of voting (that is if they don't tax that too!!!) to vote for a better country by NOT voting for Labour!!!
