I'm pretty sure your teacher is refering to "the internet". "information superhighway" is a term,albeit circa 1992, used for the internet. Bill Gate's, though having not so much to do with the internet, did have alot to do with makeing the internet more accessable with the windows formats and microsofts bundling of Internet Explorer with every new computer (though i'm pretty sure that bundling was found in violation of anti-trust laws somebody call me on that if i'm wrong).
