Whenever I stop at lgihts etc the engine shakes excessively and and have noticed that the gears are starting to stick when Idle and in motion. Esp when idle going from neutral to first and when in motion from first to second.
Recently had a new engine mount (block?) fitted and seems to have got worse!

Any ideas?

sounds like your clutch is dragging, causing the gears to be hard to engage.

Not meaning this in a rude sense, its time to scrap it. No point in spending money on a car that has a value of about £50.

The idling problem could be any of a number of things. idle valve, air flow meter, plugs, leads, contaminated fuel, throttle body.

Or just needing the engine mount tightened up.

Sounds as though you have a misfire or it is only firing on three cylinders. That will cause the engine to shake.Check the basics first. Are all 4 plug leads connected to the plugs? You really need to get it diagnosed buy a mechanic, could be many things and she is getting old.
