My son placed a minnow in our small tank with about 4 other fish, two regular goldfish and two fantails, they were in there for about 2 years and the minnow grew to about 3" during this time... all of the sudden he started eating the goldfish... what happened after so long?

the reason he didnt eat them before was cause he wasnt old enough to,eating habbits change as they grow older,also when he gets bigger he rises on the food chain putting the gold fish below him

Is he bigger then the goldfish now? If so, he's just higher up on the food chain then the smaller fish.

they must of not liked the gold fish food and turned cannibalism?
