I suffer from Stickler Syndrome and as a result getting around isnt as easy as it use to be. i have a son who is missing more school than i would like because i cant get him there.
Does anyone know if there is any help available with getting him back and fore to school?
I hate to think he is suffering because i have a disability.

Ask the school! There must be something they can do in this situation! Or could you not arrange something with another parent who has kids going to the same school who live nearby? You could offer to pay part of the petrol money or something......

Try the school, your local education Department. Try ringing Parentlineplus or better still, check out their website at parentlineplus.org.uk and select the useful links part. Under disabilities, you will find a number of organisations which may help.

If there are no other members of your family or any other friends that can help you, you are able to apply to the Education Department for funding for a taxi to take your son backwards and forwards to school. I am not sure of your sons age but if he is old enough to use public transport you can also apply for funding for a buss pass for him. Good luck x

I believe you can have a service wherby your son can be taken to school in a taxi (and there is another person who goes with him as a babysitter almost - can't think of the official term!) and gets brought home for you and it's all paid for...I dont know how you go about getting it, but i think speak to the school and see what they can suggest!

Talk to your child's school, your GP,and any support group you use-I'm sure transportation can be arranged as your son's education is very important, but obviously with your condition,it is a real struggle. I'm sure they'll be able to offer you and your son help.
