Do some research before you sell.....you may not want to if the coins are valuable enough......just be wary when looking for an appraisal.....especially if they are quick to offer to buy.
Here's a link to see if your coins are in the valuable catagory....you also may educate yourself about the conditions of coins......that is how the value is also is determined.

Yes, but first, go to an antiquities shop and get an estimation from them to determine the value of the coins. Don't sell the coins just yet. Look in your phone directory for a list of antique shops especially one that buys and trades coins.

If you would have given more info, I could have given you a value range. The only think I can say is take them to a coin dealer. Leave jewelry shops and antiques shops off your list of places to go. They really don't know coins as well as a professioal dealer, you will not get what you should for them. I wish you had stated what they were, for different coins go to different types of dealers. U.S. coins to that type dealer and world coins to that type dealer.

You can do an internet search to see what they are selling for. Then you will know what it is worth. Then try Ebay. I have seen many coins selling there.
