EVERY PREGNANCY IS DIFFERENT, AND YOU SHOULDN'T FEEL ASHAME ON HOW YOU LOOK, YOUR HAVING A BEAUTIFUL CHILD. AND THEY ARE WORTH EVERYTHING. AND BEING PLACED ON BEDREST THAT DOESN'T HELP THE WIEGHT, BUT ITS NOT YOUR FAULT. THEY ARE PUTTING YOU ON IT BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY OF THE CHILD. SO RELAX, AND KEEP THINKING OF THAT BEAUTIFUL CHILD THAT YOUR BRINGING INTO THIS WORLD. GOOD LUCK.

With my first baby i gained 43 pounds! I'm 7 months with second and have gained 20 already. I think it's hereditary though, my mom is the same way she can't eat a pork chop with out swelling up! My weight has always been up and down my entire life so it's no surprise that i gain weight so easily during pregnancy. It's like for every 1lb that others gain is 2 more for me! I learned not to take it to heart and try eating right and getting some exercise as most as i can and just forget about the rest, if not i'll drive myself insane. As long as you're committed to losing the weight after the baby is born then i wouldn't worry too much right now.

You're not the only one! I gained 60 pounds w/ my first baby and I am 20 weeks now and have gained about 20 pounds so far. I exercise and eat healthy, so I think this is genetic. I lost the weight w/ my first, and hoping I can lose it just as quickly w/ this one. You should not feel ashamed and probably has nothing to do w/ you being placed on bedrest. Please don't worry, everyone is different.

well feeling good during pregnancy is extremely important so I would suggest that you start a very mild exercise routine. I was underweight pre-pregnancy and quickly gained 20 lbs. after i hit the 20 lb. mark my weight gain sort of evened out.. i would most definitely recommend either walking, swimming, prenatal yoga or other prenatal exercises- I have had absolutely no back pain and not many other symptoms to complain about since i began exercising... I am almost 38 weeks pregnant now, and still feel pretty good! Good luck, and remember this is one time in your life when you are supposed to gain weight..

yes for some reason when i get pregnant, my body just loves to pack on weight. i can stay reasonably slim when i'm not pregnant, but as soon as i'm with child, i start getting pudgy. i wish i could be one of those cute, skinny pregnant ladies with a little bump, but no - i gain all over. i have been more careful this time, exercising more, not eating any junk food, and my weight gain is slower than my first pregnancy. go figure.

Pretty sure it has to do with your body absorbing all the energy from food instead of wasting it through excrement.
