I am planning on buying an apple ipod. I have several regular mp3 files on my computer that I have either bought online or downloaded from friends. Will I be be able to download these songs to the ipod or am I restricted to getting songs to the ipod from I-tunes. Thanks.

MP3, while inferior to just about every other portable audio format out there, has the one sole advantage of being the universal format. Everything plays them, including iPods. All you need to do is go into iTunes and add the files to your library. The simplest way to do this is to open iTunes in a small window, find your MP3 files in another small window, and then just click and drag the files into the iTunes window. Once they've registered in iTunes, it'll treat them just like any other music.

Also, you can rip your existing CD collection directly into the iTunes music library. There is no actual reason that you'd have to buy music through the iTunes store unless it is an exclusive track.

you want to flow by iTunes to purchase and move song on your iPod. it truly is somewhat better than a drag and drop equipment. you should continually have the present version of iTunes and as a lot as date firmware for the Shuffle. iTunes will warn you if there's a firmware replace for the Shuffle once you connect it.

No, the iPod only plays MPEG4 formatted songs/videos.
