The best way is simply to ask. I disagree with the above answer also, as plenty of men are simply cultured, and enjoy poetry, philosophy, classical music and looking well. Though, if you see him wearing make-up he's probably gay. But seriously, no one will take being asked if they're gay or not these days, as gay men have a reputation for being affluent, intelligent, and good looking.

i love a guy who acts masculine in posturing, yet will be mushy too. A cowboy who can journey the variety all day and isn't afraid to carry me all evening. someone who can act not difficulty-free, yet will cry even as observing Brokeback Mountain. a guy who can cook dinner a meal even as donning an apron, yet nevertheless seem masculinely pleasing. i wager i love those in the midsection who can share some features from both aspect.

agree with the preivous one.
but it happened with me, that i had a very good frined, first i thought smthing is not right, but than i knew him better, became my friend, and i denied to accept that he would bi/gay... but after a while he told me he is....
so. maybe the very first impression on you helps you to the truth, but asking is not a big deal... i mean You should not make a big deal of it... than everything will be fine.

aside from asking you can see it from his actions and interests. if in your area, his actions is quite different from what is believed to be masculine for the boys there. if that is so, it is better to start questioning or something.
but i really think the best way is to ask him. it won't be harsh if it's not true. he would be just laughing at it.

Yes i agree just Ask. You can't tell just from looking at someone or from there personality. That would be stereotyping.
