OK, goldfish, shubumbins and koi are all members of the carp family so they can be all be fed the same sort of food, but in the winter they should only be fed if the water temperature is above 10 degrees and with wheat germ, you can get this from any good pet store. But make sure that your fish are looking for food and not oxygen.

The other problem is a little more serious the cotton wool growth is only a secondary disease, it sounds like your fish might have ulcers, this is a bacterial infection and can be treated with an antibiotics from a good koi store.

Have you checked for:

PH levels ? Acidic water often make fish act funny and tired. You may need to by PH strips to check the PH and then buy treatment for the water. Rain for examle will make the pond slightly acidic and kill fish slowly if not treated for.

Also are you using the correct food - with such a large range of fish if can be a common mistake to use the wrong feed. Also don't over feed the fish but this sounds like it's not a problem for you.

I really would consult a vet though - or a pet specilist to take a look for any hidden threats..

I assume you are in the UK. Cold water fish must not be fed from about the end of October to about the end of March. Fish become torpid during this period, their metabolism slowing right down and any food which they are fed simply rots in their gut and kills them, uneaten food will also rot in the pond. I would be inclined to replace half the water now and do it again after about 10 days so that the fish gets some `Fresh Air` as it were.

Possible ICK, You can find meds is any fish store or wally world. NOte: You should only feed them when the water is consistly above 50 degress. You could also take one (In a bag filled with pond water) to the store (Pestmart ect) and ask them to look at the fish. Most places will because you need to buy meds from them ;0)
