If your running windows:
1. Click start
2. If IE7 (Internet Explorer 7) is on there, just click and hold on the icon to drag it to your desktop. That's it! If IE7 was not there go to step 3

3. After you click start go to my computer, access your hard drive (normally it's c:\ unless you changed it) by double clicking on it. Normally its the one labeled, c:\
4. Then there should be a folder, Program Files, double click on it.
5. Now there should be loads of folders unless you recently reformated your computer (Another Story), try to find Internet Explorer, Iexplorer, or anything to do with internet explorer (you get the idea), double click on it.
6. Now there should be a file labeled, Iexplorer.exe, or just, Iexplore. Right click on it (NOT LEFT CLICK) and select copy, then go to your desktop and hold down control then press, v
7. If it is not labeled what you want right click the icon and select rename, and type in the new name you want and press, enter (or return)

Thats an easy one. On your start button. Highlight the e sign from explorer than drag it by double click of your mouse to drop it on your desktop. done that myself with other icons.
